FAQ
Firstly a note about our packaging
We strive to make our packaging as eco friendly as possible. We use the following:
- Our tissue paper is printed with soy based inks on FSC certified paper and is fully compostable, recyclable and made from recycled materials.
- The plastic bags we use are degradable, they are also reusable as there are two lines of glue and we only use one.
- Our paper bags are compostable.
- The boxes we use are either reusable or recyclable.
- Our packing paper is newspaper offcuts (unprinted!)
- Our glassine bags are compostable.
- The eco sellotape that we use is plant based, contains no plastic and is fully compostable.
When is your next update?
We tend to pop items in the shop as and when they are ready as 'Tiny Top Ups' This means there should always be something new the shop, there is less likelyhood of cart-jacking and shopping is a more pleasurable experience.
If a larger update is due the time and date will be displayed on the homepage - in a banner at the top of the screen.
Don’t forget to follow us on instagram or facebook as we will post details of Tiny Top Ups and larger updates over there. If you turn notifications on your will never miss a post.

What payments do you accept?
We accept payment via PayPal, credit/debit card and apple pay.
Do you accept custom orders?
Unfortunately we are unable to take custom orders.
Will you reserve an item for me?
I'm sorry, but no, I like to be fair to everyone.
I would like (specific item), when will these be available?
We make when inspiration strikes which changes month to month and season to season. We like to switch it up and make things with love so what is available will be ever changing. We always have a variety of knitting and sewing notions in the shop. We strive to have new projects bags listed monthly and rotate all other items across the year. We are only two people with four hands! (sadly we are not octopi)
Is your home smoke free?
Yes absolutely
How can I leave feedback?
We love to hear you feedback! You can leave a review by clicking on 'Write a review' underneath the product you wish to review.
We also love to see your purchased goodies or unboxings on instagram stories or posts - tag us using @sewsweeviolet so we can see! Often our kits and advents come with a suggested hashtag so don’t forget to use this too!
Can you tell me where you get your materials?
We have spent a lot of time searching and testing out the perfect materials for all the items we make to ensure they are high quality are perfect for our needs. Because of this, while we are happy to share some information, we hope you respect that we have to keep some trade secrets.
What isn’t a secret is how much we love liberty of London fabric!

How will I know when my order is posted?
We will send you a shipping confirmation email when we have packed and posted the package.
When can I expect to receive my order?
All items (unless stated as pre-order) in the shop are ready to be shipped! We dispatch orders two times a week (normally Mondays and Thursday, although this may vary)
All orders are posted 1st Class via Royal Mail for the UK. All overseas orders will go by Royal Mail International Standard.
I think my parcel may be lost what should I do?
Royal Mail only considers a parcel missing if it has not arrived within 15 working days of posting for domestic customers or 25 working days for international customers. If your order has still not arrived after this time please do get in touch with us via email.
I'm in the European Union, what happens with customs fees?
As of December 31st 2020, the United Kingdom left the European Union. As a result parcels sent to European countries will now be liable for handling. customs and import charges. These handling, custom and import charges are the responsibility of the recipient, and this applies to both European and non-European countries. Please consult your own country’s regulations for more information.
What if I have a problem with my order?
Please get in touch via email and we will get back to you with a solution as soon as possible.
